EXTRA! EXTRA! READ ALL ABOUT US!
Oceanside Unit 146 is one of ten units chosen to be the recipient of a $200 scholarship from the Girls State Alumni. This is awarded to units that are interviewing a school that is new to them. Oceanside Unit 146 will continue to sponsor three delegates. We will be adding Fallbrook this year and not interviewing Carlsbad. The district has been notified that Carlsbad is open to another unit to sponsor. The cost to send a delegate is $400 for each school. The alumni will send a check to us after all paperwork is sent in to department. The interviews start in January. We will be interviewing at El Camino High on January 22, Oceanside High on January 28 and Fallbrook on January 29. We have found that doing the interviews in January gives the applicants enough time to get their physicals and paperwork in order for the deadline in early March. Kim Crone – Girls State
